Lake Schluchsee is the largest lake in the Black Forest and one of the most popular swimming destinations in the region. With its clear water, well-maintained bathing spots and the impressive mountain backdrop, it offers perfect conditions for a day by the water in summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Strandbad Schluchsee is located right in the town centre and offers a large sunbathing lawn, a diving tower, beach volleyball courts and a separate toddler area. Admission is free with the Hochschwarzwald Card \u2013 a great advantage for guests of our holiday apartment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About 2 km south of Schluchsee lies the Wolfsgrund bathing spot. It is quieter than the Strandbad and ideal for those who prefer a more secluded setting. Access is free and there is a small sunbathing lawn right by the shore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the southern end of the lake near Seebrugg, you will find additional bathing spots with shallow entry, particularly suitable for families with small children. The area around Unterkrummenhof also offers quiet shoreline spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lake Schluchsee is a reservoir at around 930 metres altitude, so water temperatures are somewhat cooler than in valley locations. In high summer (July and August), the water reaches about 20\u201322 \u00b0C \u2013 pleasantly refreshing on hot days. In June and September, temperatures are usually between 16 and 19 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Besides swimming, Lake Schluchsee offers numerous water sport options: stand-up paddling (SUP), pedal boating, sailing and diving. Boards and boats can be rented at several rental stations around the lake. Lake Schluchsee is one of the few Black Forest lakes where sailing is permitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you want more than just swimming, you can walk around Lake Schluchsee on the popular circuit trail. The approximately 18 km route leads through forests and along boardwalks right by the shore. Walking time is about 5\u20136 hours. Along the way, there are several places to stop for refreshments and, of course, many opportunities for a refreshing swim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
